Intergalactic Bath Bomb - Lush Cosmetics

Yesterday, I claimed to have found a bath bomb that had become one of my top 5. Today, I tried Intergalactic and it has definitely smashed its way towards the top of that! So much so, I could not wait to rant and rave about this fantastic bomb!

Intergalactic Bath Bomb by Lush Cosmetics
When first seeing these available in Oxford Street, I was intrigued as to what they would look like visually in the bath. Hearing "Intergalactic", I immediately envisaged a starry, sparkly, swirly bath full of glitter and then suddenly Shoot for the Stars bath bomb appeared in my mind. With that being one of my favourites, I was nearly wetting my pants in excitement to give this one a try.

Upon the first initial (and essential) sniff test, I was surprised to learn that this was minty! As much as I love minty fresh scents, I didn't know what to make of it being a bath product. The bomb is a deep blue colour with hints of a vibrant yellow and pinks peeing through the middle. On the surface of the bomb are that hint of lustre which tells you this is going to be a super bomb!

Look at that gold lustre and all those vibrant colours!
This one is a fast fizzer to begin with! As soon as the bomb hits the water, it explodes and engulfs the bath into a sea of deep, glittery blue! The band around the middle of the bomb injects colour which splits up the jets of blue firing out of the bomb. The scent fills the room and suprisingly, I quite like it. In fact, I like it a lot! I remember when Melomint was released in The Kitchen, I was thinking how strange it was to have a mint bath but saw a comment that mentioned how refreshing it was for a cool summer bath. I definitely feel that this bath would be the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer's day (though they are quite rare, I wouldn't want to wait that long).

When the bomb begins to swirl, the real magic begins.
The fizzing carries on but the bomb doesn't seem to be getting any smaller which is surprising due to the fierce firing of colour coming from it. Suddenly, it begins to spin and in doing so, causes a huge, galaxy type swirl. Compared with Shoot for the Stars, this is much more vibrant and colourful and I much prefer the scent! I remember the day I found out that Shoot for the Stars scent was the same as Honey I Washed the Kids. Until then, I couldn't put my finger on it and as soon as I found out, I sadly went off the scent. As much as I love the both of them, I think this one comes out on top for me due to the colours and the scent.

When the bomb nears its end, like Frozen, it splits into two. and begins to slowly fizz. Half purple and half creamy, turquoise blue fizz and bubble side by side giving one last showstopper. Once this bomb had finished, it had left my bath a beautiful mix of purples, yellows, blues and whites in the centre of the tub, surrounded by layers and layers of blues and whites. This was crying out for me to play with and create some patterns! If you run a hair pin or toothpick (or anything thin enough) you can begin to create some epic art bath art!

Once the patterns fade and you're in the tub, the water is a magnificent blue with gold lustre swooshing around underneath the surface in waves. The amount on glitter in the bomb is incredible! The bath left my skin feeling quite soft and on coming out of the bath and drying off... I was completely covered, head to toe, in glitter! My bath had a layer of gold lustre left on the bottom once the bath had drained. If you don't like glitter, don't let this put you off, it is easily removed by a quick rinse in the shower if you choose.

All in all, this is by far one of the best bath bombs Lush have created in my opinion. I think it certainly filled the hole that was left when I realised the scent of Shoot for the Stars (not a fan of honey). The incredible performance this gave, the bright vibrant colours and the glittery blue bath water is exactly what a top notch bath bomb should include! I do have a video demo of this and will be editing it shortly to upload to our YouTube channel so stay tuned.

Frozen Bath Bomb Lush Cosmetics

Months ago came hints towards a bath bomb which would be inspired by Disney's Frozen. A picture on Jack Constantine's Instagram page (@doubtfulsound) was released showing the hash tag #letitgo which immediately stirred rumors of a Frozen themed bath bomb. The picture shows a more pale white colour with a deep blue band around its circumference whereas the finished product available from Lush Oxford Street is a more powdered blue with a thicker belt around the bomb.

Frozen inspired bath bomb
The smell is strong yet not overpowering. This bomb has a pairing of grapefruit and neroli oils and shares its scent with that of Happy Happy Joy Joy hair conditioning perfume. Although, when this was mentioned to a member of staff, it was disregarded and told that this offers more grapefruit but it's pretty much identical match! So after sniffing and whiffing, it called for one thing......let's drop this and see what it can really do!

The beautiful ice blue splitting out into the bath
As soon as this bomb hits the water the pale blue sections fluff and puff out and give a very slow fizz, whilst the blue centered band goes to work! It oozes out into the bath which slowly turns the water into an piercing iced blue. This centre piece is a fast fizzer and begins to create a work of art on the surface of the bath. The blue and the blue tinted white fluffy, creamy section compliment each other in such a beautiful way. The pictures certainly speak for themselves. Compared to other bath bombs from Lush, this is certainly a longer performing bomb with this one fizzing longer than 7-8 minutes. Due to the middle fizzing faster than the outside, the bomb splits in half towards the end, giving two iceburg like islands floating around the bath. Looking closely in the bomb, a generous helping of silver lustre can be seen which gives this bomb that really icy, frozen feel. If this was deliberate in the design by Lush then I certainly take my hats of to them. Out of all the bath bombs I have had, this has got to be by far one of the best I have used. It is definitely up there in my top 5!
Towards the end, the bomb starts to rotate giving
beautiful swirls of loveliness
When first looking at the bomb, I originally thought it wouldn't really do much visually but how wrong I was. Once the bomb splits in half and finishes, the fluffy cloud like white disappears and leaves a bath of crystal iced blue waters with an absolutely incredible amount of lustre below the surface. the silver lustre swirls, curls and twirls in waves creating such a magical, relaxing spectacle to watch. The scent is one of my favourites. Perfect for a truly relaxing, first class experience. When my sister and I visit Lush Oxford Street again next month, this is certainly one I will be rushing to get and stock up!

Coming up - full review on Intergalactic bath bomb exclusive to Lush Oxford Street and our recommendations over the best combinations for Lush Cocktails :D Once again, thanks for reading and be sure to comment, subscribe and follow us on Instagram: @Lushsibs

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb

"Go from 0 to 60's when you bathe with this bomb. Bobbing orbs - made with 100% traceable cocoa butter - and triple whammy of orange oils are guaranteed to make you feel groovy baby."

There has been a lot of argument over the new Lush Lava Lamp bath bomb with some people claiming to have had their body and bath tub stained purple and with this scheduled for release in tomorrow's Kitchen menu, I thought I would review and let you guys decide for yourselves.

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb
After visiting the new Lush Oxford Street store yesterday, we took it upon ourselves to create our own opinions on this product.

When you first lay your eyes on this Bomb, you seriously cannot ignore the scent that protrudes from the shelf. This product boasts three ingrediants that creates its orangey aroma; orange flower absolute, tangerine and mandarin oils. Secondly, you can't help but question what these purple circles are which are spotted across the bomb. These are in fact the oils which will create the lava lamp effect in your bath.

When we walked past this, we were both a little sad because of how much we loved the scent. We'd both agreed to not get this on the basis of other reviews we had read. We were given a demo of this and informed the employee that we were concerned with many customers claiming stained baths and skin. They admitted that there have been some reports but after they had investigated the matter, it was found that the stains were only appearing on older baths which had a lack of overlay which helps wipe it clean. After being given a demo in one of the sinks, we were mesmerised by the swirls and twirls of purple. It as unbelievable just how moisterising the water was and it made our hands very soft. Well, we were both convinced after she pulled the plug and it left no stains and ended up getting three each.

As soon as this hits the surface of the water it sets off in rapid action; it's certainly a fast fizzer. Every now and then another of its oily purple spots is lost which creates an island that floats around the bath whilst it melts. Some of them sank to the floor of the bath but this created an extra dimension and realism towards the classic lava lamp. From the bottom of the bath as these melted, drops of oil slowly raised itself towards to surface of the now orange water.

The scent fills the entire room and beyond. Its fresh, zesty orange scent is one of my favourites. When the oil melts completely, you are left with a product like no other. It really does recreate that lava lamp feel.

Now this is where I begin to see a different side. When we were in store, the demo sinks are just that - sinks. They are not baths and therefore dont give a perfect representation of what this would look like in the bath. There is not much difference but because a bath is bigger, these inky spots are a lot more isolated and widespread than the compact spectacle we observed in store.

Upon entering the bath, the purple lava began to disappear to the sides of the bath and more disappointingly, on me! Where ever I moved or no matter how much I rubbed it off, it somehow came back or ended up elsewhere. I then began to feel a little dirty like I needed to get out and clean off before getting back in. Then I noticed all the purple lining all the bath and started to wish I had listened to the other reviews. I had visions of scrubbing the bath tub with the strongest bleach for hours but it wasn't all doom and gloom. Not at all!

When the oils mixed with the water, my skin became so soft. It's hard to explain but it first happened with star light star bright - it felt as if I had an extra layer covering my body that kept it soft and smelling beautiful and its the same with Lava Lamp. My skin was softer than soft and smelt strongly of orange. It has now been 3 hours since using it and I still smell strongly of the scent.

After emptying the bath, I was happy to see everything come off with a quick wipe and my leg had not stained purple. Overall, I think this is definitely worth a purchase! It's pros certainly outweigh the cons. It did not stain my bath, neither did it stain my skin. It left me feeling soft and moisterised and my mood uplifted with its strong, orange odor. It was a little shakey to begin but in the end a fab product. However, whilst the concept is amazing and is certainly well replicated in a bath until you step into it.

For those of you who are worried (that needn't be) you can easily pop the purple spots out and enjoy an oil free bath!

Jase :)

Hello from Sam

Lush for me now is probably one of the best things I have in my life. Need a pick me up? Eczema problems? Feeling low? Ex-boyfriend troubles? Lush has a bath bomb for that. If in doubt, I choose lush.

I was first introduced to lush in May 2015. I had a counsellor who gave me tips on how to relax and learn to love my body instead of punishing it. I suffer from anxiety & depression so she recommended Lush as she said there is nothing lush can not cure. She was right.

My first ever lush product was Dorothy Bubble Bar, & as probably a lot of you can relate to when you just throw your bubble bar in, not having a foggiest idea that you're meant to crumble it up under running water to create bubbles & it sinks to the bottom. I didn't really expect much as this was my first product anyway. Nevertheless, I had a few bubble and mushed it all up. I was surprised by how the water felt more like silk & the scent was so strong & didn't fade. After getting out, I smelt gorgeous, & my skin was moisturised like it never had been before. The bathroom smelt of the bubble bar for the rest of the day & all my family were asking what the gorgeous smell was.

When you don't know how to use a bubble bar and throw it all in!
By the end of May 2014 I had learned how to use a bubble bar & pretty much tried every single bath bomb in their continuous range. There was nothing I disliked. I just wanted more and more. So I'd stocked up and had my first little stash which lasted me up until the Halloween/Christmas range. I didn't know that Lush did limited edition products for different times of the year, so seeing all these new bath bombs, I had to have them all. I visited Birmingham in December and decided to have my first Lush trip with my brother. I was a little apprehensive because it was so rammed but I loved the atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and introduced me to products other than bath bombs/bubble bars. So I left with First Snow dusting powder, which is a scented powder that moisturises your skin & leaves a subtle glittery shimmer. So, now I'm on to other products, I decided to study the lush website of all the products that they do.

After using Grease Lightning and Tea Tree Toner Spray daily
for one month!

Having suffered from acne most of my life, when I looked through Lush's face products on the website they had a lot of products that fhelped to cleanse/tone your skin & the almighty grease lighting that fights spots as soon as you feel them coming. I was sold. I noticed a difference within a few weeks. It was like magic. I'd literally tried everything the doctor had given me for acne, even antibiotics. They didn't work for me. Changing my skin routine to a Lush skin routine gave me gorgeous flawless skin I'd so desperately been in search of from my early teens. Not only that, but it gave me that extra boost of confidence that I'd be lacking for such a long time. This was the point where I thought my counselor was a genius.

Blackberry Bath Ballistic
I found that they have a bath bomb to helps anxiety called 'blackberry bath bomb'. The scents in this bath bomb are meant to be calming, as they're ingredients that are used in aromatherapy, frankincense & bergamot. Claiming that this help to ease tension, calm breathing & introduce feelings of wellbeing. All you have to do is drop your blackberry bath bomb in the bath, lay back and relax. Reading the difference scents in this product I was a little apprehensive that I wouldn't like them, but it was quite the opposite, I loved it. The colour of the water changed to a deep purple & I ended up feeling like I was floating away in paradise. So now every time I'm having a bit of a down day or I'm feeling panicky knowing I've got to go out and face the world, I use this bath bomb before hand & then I'm ready to fight my way through the day ahead.

After searching through all the products on the lush website I found The Kitchen. After finding The Kitchen you're well & truly hooked. Limited edition products to buy every weekday. Wow. The thing about the kitchen that has got me hooked is the fact you can not get these products from any stores & only 30-400 items are made of each product, So when I receive my Lush delivery which is labelled 'FrAesh from The Kitchen' I get all excited like a child at Christmas knowing that I'm one of few who own these limited edition products. I get a little bit upset when I use my last product from the Lush Kitchen, but then I remember I can always put a request in for them to make my favourite product again. So now we're into May 2015, my Kush stash is huge & Kush Oxford Street has just opened with Lush products that are exclusive to that store only. This made Jase and I think it was the perfect time to start blogging & show you videos, reviews and demos of all the new products. I actually have a countdown on my phone, & I have written a list ready so I don't miss anything that I really really want!!

Error 404

This has to be one of my firm favorites and each time it comes to The Kitchen I just have to snap it up!

This bath bomb was first available for absolutely free! It was not listed on the site as a product and could only be found by typing in its name in the search tool. I love how this ties in with the name of error 404 - a product on the site that wasn't listed and you can get it for free sounds like one great error to me!

We purchased a few of these in The Kitchen when they first appeared this year for £4.04 and after using them, we were sure to order more when they reappeared in the kitchen for a second time!

Upon receiving these, the first thing I noticed was the smell that was eluding from the box - a very gentle baby powder scent of which I was not expecting. As with other glittery products from Lush, there was no doubt that just handling this bath ballistic, there was lustre everywhere!

The true magic begins when this is dropped into a warm bath. The gold lustre falls off and turns your bath into an intergalactic golden glittery heaven. As its deceptive case is removed, a turquoise underlay is revealed and it starts to fizz, filling the surface of your bath as its canvas.

Error404 showing off its elusive colours
As it tosses and turns, this bomb fires swirls of blue, green and turquoise colours. For a small bath bomb, it certainly packs its punch! The show stopper comes when the centre erupts even more golden goodness.

Once settled, the water turns a beautiful turquoise colour which resembles a crystal blue ocean with golden lustre creating a magical performance below the surface. Its scent is similar to baby powder and it stays on your skin for hours after. Some people ask what they would mix this with. I would certainly say don't! This is one that needs a baths full attention!

I just couldn't resist getting a hair grip and running it through the colours to create some bath art. I have done this with other bombs like Dragon's Egg and Twilight and it is so effective. Take a look at some of the images below. This ballistic is really not one to missed and when it comes up again, I will be sure to stock up!

Coming up we have our top 10 bath cocktails

Jase :)

Hello from Jase

Hello!

This is our first time ever doing anything like this so apologies to begin for being a little rusty. We are Lushsibs! Two siblings that share an addiction to Lush Cosmetics! I would like to share how it all began and how we hope, through blogging, we can expand how we share what we love through blogs and videos and not me limited to Instagram.

For me, it all began just before Christmas 2014 when my sister showed me a picture of her bath. There I was sat in plain boring bath water and I am sent an image of Lush's Northern Lights bath ballistic. Being a lad, I have never really known of bath bombs and what can be achieved. I knew of them, but didn't think anything past a bit of fizz and a nice smell. I wanted in on this interesting looking things!

We decided to go shopping in Birmingham and visited Lush there. Upon entering, you really do get hit with 'that smell' every Lush shop has. I was in heaven. I went straight for the bath bombs and started giving them all a whiff.

"The blue one smells nice, the yellow one smells like honey, that big green one over there smells like a Jelly Baby" I would say, hearing my sister correct me informing me what was what. I settled with Fizzbanger. A beautifully citrus, sweet scent which was bright yellow. £3.35 was a little bit steep compared to the £1 huge bottle of Radox I'm used to. With an open mind, I went toward the till skipping everything else in my way. Sam was telling me that this is where it all starts. I laughed and firmly stated that there was no way I would ever get anything other than a bath bomb now and again.

Seeing my sister get new products, I'd try them out each Sunday. The first being Grease Lightning - in its small bottle and £6.40 I was quite skeptical. Could it really do such wonders? To put simply, yes. I was a little aprehensive to be spending quite a bit of money for such a little bit of product but I went for it. Happy with the results I looked into more of their products. The bath bombs started to pile up... I purchased my first shower gel, Grass... then it was face masks and I started to feel like I wanted to try EVERYTHING!

Then came the introduction to The Kitchen. Why do they sell such amazing products and knowing they're limited edition and can't be purchased in store made me want them for wanting them sake. Fortunately I have loved absolutely everything I have purchased from The Kitchen but unfortunately my bank balance doesn't!

We have people all the time, and I am sure you do too who say, "Why are you wasting your money on stuff you just throw in the bath? £10.25 for shower gel? I can get a bottle for £1!" but for me, Lush is my treat. Some people spend money on smoking, scratch cards, going out every other night, a new pair of shoes etc. I like to spend it on Lush and take some me time and relax.

We both began a joint Instagram account to keep track of the baths and products we would buy and use. This was to stop our phones being clogged with pictures and videos and instead we had somewhere we could share them. Suddenly out of nowhere we noticed our likes and followers increase and wondered why anyone would be interested in a few bath pictures. To our surprise, there was a whole entire community of "Lushies" on Instagram and we started to make friends with others that shared the same passion. Its really humble to know that we never really set out for likes or followers but instead to share something we loved and in doing so, others have got involved in sharing that love and passion and along the way we have met some lovely people.

We felt that Instagram was limited at giving us a voice. We want to start giving more and doing that in different ways. We can both talk for England and always wanted to blog/vlog but never really had anything to talk about...whereas now we have.

Thank you for your continued support and we are excited to begin this blog. Let us know what you think. Any advice on blogging completely appreciated, this is my first ever write so I am sorry if its been a little dull
